Dragos Burlacu (1978) comes from Bacau, Romania. He has an undergraduate degree from ‘Luceafarul’ Art Academy and a postgraduate degree from the National University of Arts, both in Bucharest. He has presented his work in numerous national and international exhibitions and art fairs, including ‘Biennale of Young Artists’ (Bucharest, 2004), ‘New Identities in Painting and Sculpture in Romania after 1990’ (Iasi, 2007), ‘Young Romanian Art # 7’ (Venice, 2009), ‘Understanding History’ (Bucharest, 2009), ‘Why the Black is Not White’ (Brussels, 2010), ‘Colouring the Grey – State of Mind’ (Tel Aviv, 2011, and Liverpool, 2012), ‘End of Empires’ (Liverpool, 2013), ‘Portraits’ (Grenoble, 2016), ‘Back to the Roots’ (Bacau, 2016) and ‘Simpatie si semnificatie’ (Bucharest, 2017). Moreover, Dragos has participated in a number of art fairs, including Art Verona (2011), Art Copenhagen (2013) and Art Safari Bucharest (2015/16). His remarkable work has also been praised in various local and international publications.
